The vast majority of LDP candidates’ learning will be on the job in their divisional assignments. The set of rotations designed for program participants is as different as each candidate’s background. Divisional assignments are built with the individual’s strengths and interests as the foundation. Program managers look for assignments, however, where the participants’ strengths work closely with other important functional areas of the business. The end result is a broader understanding of the key drivers of business and leadership success in the industry and at the AEGON companies. Under certain circumstances, candidates may be able to rotate internationally. Examples of how participants broaden their knowledge and skills are:
  • People versus technical leadership
  • Asset versus liability sides of business
  • Technical depth versus company breadth
  • Cross-divisional versus cross-departmental projects
  • Multi-functional versus within one function
  • Business Unit versus Corporate/Investment Operations
